My project hasn't started yet, but when it does I'll mainly travel either in airplanes or in a special vehicle that has wide treads that let it travel over the snow and ice - kind of like what you might see on a caterpillar tractor like a bulldozer.
I'm glad you are looking at the many different expeditions that PolarTREC puts on line for you to follow. My trip will not happen until October of 2012, but there are many other ones that are either already started or will be soon.
